You may want to repair both spindles even though only one is showing symptoms. 3. Remove the worn spindle from the deck. Be careful when removing the bolts. Sometimes the dial will get stuck and be real stubborn. You may have to take a vise grip pillars to the dial shaft to break it loose. I had to do that to mine once. Just make sure that your mower deck is raised all the way to the top and also make sure that you are turning the dial to a lower number. You cannot go from 4, past top.
