Its been a couple years and no issues since I got codes p0172 and p0175 shes been actually running great until last week, the pilot stalled while driving on a back road started it back up and ran fine but have CEL with codes p2099 and p2097 stored and p0175 and p2097 pending.Feb 22, 2023 · The colloquial "standard" seems to be to wait until there is noticeable or excessive valve train noises. Meanwhile exhaust valves tend to stretch faster than there's wear, so get quieter before they get noisier. Until they start to burn, and at the same time risk cam damage. My engine is really quiet, always has been. Don't need to remove the wheel. Honda recommends the valves be checked at 105K. Pushing it to 150K is fine, but they should definitely be checked at 150K. The biggest issue isn't the intake valves that become looser and louder over time, it's the exhaust valves which become tighter and you won't notice or hear them.Mar 23, 2022 · The valve adjustment is mostly labor, the parts cost ~$150 (plugs and valve cover gasket set). These prices are insane…don’t get me wrong there is some labor involved but $700+ to pull the fairly easily accessible valve covers is crazy. Figure ~4hrs tops to do this if you’re taking your time. I could probably do it in two hours as I’ve done a couple Honda valve jobs.

I recommend some silicone grease (like Sil-Glyde or 3M silicone Paste) to help them into place. PS: Set your exhaust valves on the looser of the two settings. These Honda V6's usually wear the exhaust valveseats over time which makes the clearance get tighter as time goes by. Often dealers have TB specials for $600-$700 or a bit less.
