I had 1 20 rd Prodigy mag that wouldn't drop free from my P, I had 1 17rd Prodigy mag that wouldn't engage the slide stop fully on my P. So I got rid of those 2. The other 6 or so mixed 17, 20rd Prodigy mags seem to be ok in my P, but I haven't shot the P all that much.Nothing wrong with the prodigy, especially if you’re gonna build it and change everything. The frame, slide, and barrel are all solid. Personally it shoots better than the staccato P. Prodigys in my area have been going for 1350, which is at least 8-900 cheaper than the cheapest staccato. My suggestion is if you won't die from spending the extra $, then save up for a staccato. Fit is nicer, finish is significantly nicer, and parts feel more solid. Everyone who has shot the 2 side by side (me included) believe the prodigy actually shoots nicer/softer. Obviously extra weight.The stock fire control units in a P are machined and better quality than factory Prodigy. The DLC finish is LIGHT YEARS better than the Cerakote on the prodigy, my P has a DLC barrel as well. Dawson red dot plates are 150 to 160 for a Staccato, unless you want to run a DPP, which is only $40 for that kit. I would not buy a current gen iron sights only Staccato P.
