The investigator is a curious oddity in a dungeon fantasy game. Where typical characters are built for delving dungeons, slaying dragons, and facing the worsts horrors of the multiverse, the Investigator is a much more methodical class, built around finding clues, following leads, and investigating subjects.

The deeper diving includes potential archetypes to enter and there are more of dex only requirement than str only requirement as most of the str multiclasses usually require a secondary attribute. The eldritch archer is an old dnd mainstay with a great theme. Given what we've seen of the magus so far, it seems to me like they were using the eldritch archer to test out some of the earlier concepts, particularly spell strike (eldritch shot). The eldritch archer has pretty much the exact same problem that the play test magus had.
