But the entry-level...Dec 7, 2013 · while you have it down go ahead and check the tower seals. the solonoid pack bolts to the valve body. just unbolt it and bolt in the new one, the new one may not come with the same color connector, will be white or grey, but no worries here. bolt it all back up, clear your codes and drive. the 4 is the limp mode.

Noticed the transmission was stuck in 4th gear and check engine light on. Thought I accidently had bumped it but could not manaully down- or up-shift back to automatic.

68RFE intermittent 1st and 4th with no DTC Codes. I have a 2008 Ram 2500 6.7L EFI Live on 35's with 72K miles it. The problem I am experiencing is that once this tranny issue is triggered as I am driving, I only have 1st and 4th gears. This issue goes away if I turn the truck off and restart it.If it tries to shift into 5th (and slips, then aborts) it should set a P0735 fault, and put you into logical limp-in (1st and 4th gears only). If that is what's happening, you probably have a burned OD clutch. Here is a little I found that might help. BTSI FUNCTION CHECK. (1) Verify removal of ignition key allowed in PARK. position only. (2) When the shift lever is in PARK, the ignition. key cylinder should rotate freely from off to lock. Than Slide the red locking tab down. Next pull the gray latch down. Drive it, and see if you can manually shift it to 2nd with no hiccup's. If it still acts up with that 7 pin connector unplugged, you have an electronic issue (in the valve body).
