My issue is when I am running, motor sounds/feels like its bogged down. Smoking real bad and will eventually die if left there idling like that. If i crank and throttle up and run it runs like a dream. Doesn't matter if engine is cold or warm.

Re: 1989 Mercury Black Max 175hp Idle Stabilizer. Find the terminals on the switchboxes that are jumpered together. Any other wires that are on those terminals go to either an idle stabilizer or an "advance" module. Either will only allow the fuel pump to flow a limited amount of fuel, no where near enough to make much power.
