It's a strange size, bigger than the 26 but smaller than the 19. The xd also has flush fitting 13 round mags. I've owned xd over the years but always go back to Glock. That being said, you can't go wrong for $400. Yes, the XD shoots better for me. Although I haven't fired the XD45. The Glocks in .45 are just too fat for my hands. The XD9 is such a sweet shooter. :Thumbsup: It's not the bore axis, and it's not the grip angle than makes the XD feel better in your hand.... It's the the grip dimension from front to back.

Personally I was more accurate with the glocks then the XD but their all great guns. Another gun I would suggest looking at is the Ruger SR9c.
