Mark Shera (born July 10, 1949, Bayonne, New Jersey) is an American actor, who is known for his role as J.R. in the CBS television series Barnaby Jones. Shera was cast from 1975 to 1976 in the ABC television series S.W.A.T. in the role of Officer Dominic Luca.
Barney was created in 1987 by Sheryl Leach of Dallas, Texas. She came up with the idea for the program while considering TV shows that she felt would be educational and appeal to her son.
