Kotor 1 got the ball rolling even though I'd consider it the more traditional SW story of the 2, while Kotor 2 takes this idea and creates the character of Kreia who quite literally sees the conflict between both sides as never ending and pointless. The analysis also revealed something I missed about Kreia entirely.
KOTOR 1. It makes more sense in light of Kotor 2's world and atmosphere. A Republic on the brink of collapse, Jedi nearly extinct, the Sith running loose, etc. all fit perfectly with the DS ending of Kotor 1. No. In KotOR 2, you can choose in the beginning Revan's gender and alignment. John Jackson Miller in his KotOR comics was very careful not to give Revan a canon gender, appearance, or alignment, either. Canon Revan is only something that was come up with a few years after the fact.
